LOCAL UPDATE

General Primary Runoff Advance Voting Begins June 6

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the General Primary Runoff will be held for Democrat and Republican races. For the 2026 General Primary Runoff, Cobb County has announced that it will provide Saturday and Sunday advanced voting. Advanced voting starts in limited locations Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, while multiple county locations open on June 8 through Friday, June 12.

What Cobb County voters need to know:

  • Voters do not need to re-register to participate in the runoff.
  • Voters who participated in a party's primary must vote in that same party's runoff.
  • Voters who did not vote in the May 16 primary may still participate and may choose either party's runoff ballot.
  • Independents and first-time primary participants are also welcome to vote in the runoff if they are registered to vote.
