Melissa was born in Wilson, NC and has called GA home for 22 years. Melissa graduated and earned her Army commission from North Georgia Military College (now UNG) in 1992. Her resume includes her service as a Commissioned Officer in the Air Defense Corps. Melissa served in the Persian Gulf during several deployments. After leaving the service, she worked at the Raytheon Corporation as a Quality Assurance Engineer. In her free time, Melissa enjoys volunteering with local Military units/families, writing, shooting, singing karaoke, camping, reading, and spending time with her husband, John, and sons, Jack and Seth.
