I Just read Hudson G's review (2022) here and I am finding the same response in my case. I have several of the products. It seems that they were a smaller company and have grown and as they grow, the customer service and their word is less to be counted on. I also am reviewing A.Q. (2023), Kodia V (2024), and others who give the company a (1) one-star review. They had a great business model about 8 years ago, but recently it's all blah, blah, blah. and no action. And so, being in contract with them and then receiving poor service is a nightmare. For now, I'll only give three stars because of their poor maintenance and failure to follow up once a contract has been signed and is in effect.

This is a very dishonest company, they will scam you once they are in your house and then intentionally break your HVAC just to get more money. Their scam is faking an install of an already existing thermostat and then over-bill you for the thermostat. No line item per hourly rate? I spoke with Chris Hamrick who after several people I spoke with including Lola agreed, then argued with me and said he wasn't going to refund. I didn't ask for a full refund only the difference between the service call and the work. If there had been an hourly or justified line item, I wouldn't be writing this. But the line item says one thing and the work is different. That is a bait and switch scam. Beware. Chris Hamrick is an argumentative and person who will not listen to the customer or believe the customer being right. He should not be a customer facing person.
Not only that, their customer service agents are instructed to lie. One told me Chris Hamrick was out for the day, then he calls me back. This was after another told me he was in the office. This company is beyond shady and lies.
Now that I'm reading the other reviews, I wish I had seen them before. Clearly this company has gone downhill. I'd guess the likes and previous reviews are what's keeping them floating, that or they paid for them.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

#1 First off every time you call there will be a ridiculously long wait time.
#2 This is my first and LAST time calling Reliable for any plumbing work, this entire experience has been a nightmare! It has been a minimum of 4+ hours of waiting and countless phone calls trying to get my house situation settled.
#3 Plan on waiting all day, with possible BS built in, and some really shady Customer Serv from every agent you speak with.
I had a service appt and 2 techs showed up. Awhile later they claimed they had to leave to get parts plus had forgotten their gloves (!!??)... time goes by then they came back claiming they had family emergency, couldn't finish the job, not use any water and they would call office and tie them in. Thirty minutes later I sat on HOLD again trying to find out when the next tech was coming. The office acted as though they never received a call about my house. So after waiting even more time another tech called and showed up. He had absolutely NO CLUE why he was even here!!!! and no notes from the morning visit-- he expected me to tell him what the other guys said-- WTH? I'm not the plumber how was I to explain what they found. He asked all sorts of questions that I could not answer. What I could relay to him he said didn't make sense....
The second tech is the only person I feel sorry for besides me.
So after yet another lengthy wait time of waiting to speak to a mgr (which included being sent to his VM even though the girl said he was standing across the room) I finally got a manager who spent more time trying to BS and justify the poor CS I got from the morning techs, the office staff, the all day being tied up not being able to use any water at my home, etc. (These morning guys must be some kin cause he worked hard at excuses to cover their just leaving a client hanging.) When you are running a business one tech's "family emergency" is absolutely no excuse to not communicate with the office on a client's plumbing issues. He didn't sound like he planned to admonish them at all.
Oh the mgr said he would "work with me on the price!!!" what? with all this unsatisfactory service and lack of communication--my service should be free!
Good thing I stayed on making phone calls because I guess I would have been here all night waiting for someone to call me back and running to MCDonalds to use the restroom. I only have used Reliable for HVAC services and had no problem, but this plumbing service department is a bunch of crap. The amount of hassle and excuses I have received over this issue they never have to worry about me ever calling them again.
If you are up for some really long telephone times and a really unprofessional staff here's your company.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

If I could, I would give zero stars. Can't tell you strongly enough to stay away from this company. Their shady business practice is to put a lien on your house the moment your sign any kind of financing. They call it "leasing equipment". You have been warned.

One and done. I contacted them for the preventative maintenance in July. I was charged I believe it was $280 for three units. I was told the tech will do the summer and winter maintenance in one visit (slick shit). I never heard of that but went alone with it. It's now December and one of my units heating won't come on. I called a different company for service. The guy said "you can't properly do the maintenance on a heating unit in the warmer months" and that make sense. That is why there's always been two separate visits per year for homeowners with maintenance plans. One visit during the warmer months and one visit during the colder months.
BTW.The guy they sent out to do my maintenance was an outside contractor. They are using outside companies to do their work and they won't tell you that. Believe the reviews you read here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alexus S.Asheville, NC0133Dec 16, 2023
Horrible service Technician says one thing and the Report says something else.
Customer service is very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this company.
Avoid at all cost! The value is horrible
We didn't get the service that was requestedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hometown H.Flowery Branch, GA29378Apr 28, 2023Updated review
Horrible, horrible, horrible!
They continue to fail me when it comes to service. Do not believe the salesman when they say you are a priority customer when you pay extra for their maintenance plan.
I was made to wait 5 days to get my AC repaired in July, it took 3 weeks to get my furnace repaired in December / January.
Today I had a service call between noon - 4pm. No call, no show. I called customer service at 4pm and they said the technician would call me. I called customer service again at 4:30 and got the same answer. They are looking to get out of work on Friday afternoon, to hell with the customer.
Do not use this company!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

I'm sorry we were at the end of the timeframe and late as well. We have done time frames various ways over the years. This seems to be the one that works best for most. It maybe wasn't explained well enough by our customer service but you do not need to wait for us. We give you a thirty minute call ahead so you can live your life. I will happily refund you for the miscommunication and to make it right please email your info ladavis@reliableair.com thank you!
Feb 13, 2018Previous reviewI don't know who the guy was that came to clean my heating vents and dryer vent, but he did a great job. The dryer vent was clogged and he worked on that for a long time. I recommend this service to everyone. Thank you
Feb 11, 2017Previous reviewHad a noon to 3pm timeframe. At 2:50pm, I decided to call and check on the repairman. They first said they would call back. After 30 minutes, I called back and talked to a rude CSR. She couldn't tell me a timeframe when the repairman would arrive. I asked about a discount for wasting 3 plus hours of my day and she replied, "He's only 20 minutes late". Then she said she can offer me a 15% discount on my filter (that I did not need).

Quality of their installations are actually very good. I've purchased 2 HVAC systems and a water heater from them over the past 6 years and they were installed with excellent craftsmanship.
Their service and policies are a different category altogether. I've had one of my HVAC systems fail (right before a scorching GA Summer) and it took 6 months and a report to the BBB in order to get them out here to make the repair under warranty. Initially they said they were waiting on a part, then I just stopped getting responses from them until I contacted the BBB.
Had a brand new water heater installed which ended up being defective. Can't blame them for that as there was no way to tell and defects happen. The issue I had was that I paid $1,500 for a brand new water heater and installation, after less than 2 years it cracked and flooded my basement. Called them since it was still under warranty it and guess what? That'll be another $1,000 for us to replace it UNDER WARRANTY. WTF???
Might as well have just sold me another water heater.
I really have mixed feelings about recommending them since the initial installations are very good, but the service is terrible.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We are so sorry about the experience. Unfortunately the labor on the install of the new water heater is not a warranty item as well as any consumable items to do that install. The manufacturer gives just the tank and nothing else as a part of the warranty. It is very much the same a buying a new one with the exception of paying for the tank itself.

We have not owned units in a community for over 5 years and this company continues to invoices us. We have requested numerous times to be removed. They continue to waste our time. We have requested a manager and they won't put one on the phone. They continue to ask the same questions with no results..... AWFUL!!!!

I have used Reliable Heating and Air for over 14 years and have bought 3 systems from them. I went online to sign up for my annual maintenance which has cost me around $285 since I have 3 systems. I had to leave before the appt but my husband was here when he needed to pay. Since he has never paid he did not know how much it cost. We were charged over $500 for a yearly maintenance. I tried to called Reliable that day but it was close to 5:00 and the phone went dead at 5:00. So I called first thing in the morning and they have a new plan that charges you monthly for maintenance which is about the same as the old $285 or you can pay up front and it's $500. How does that make sense? I asked them to reverse the $500 and charge me monthly and they refused. They said it was too late. I'm very upset as this was never explained to me. I will never use them again and I will be filing a complaint with American Express. I believe they did a bait and switch without properly explaining their new terms.
