Dr. Amrish Patel has built his medical practice around helping patients regain normal, healthy physical function. As a physiatrist at the Sports and Spine Institute in Marietta and McDonough, GA, Dr. Patel focuses on providing non-surgical physical medicine and rehabilitation to patients in the Atlanta area who have gone through an injury or who suffer from a disease, disorder or condition that has a negative impact on their overall quality of life. A Georgia native, Dr. Patel began his education at the University of Georgia in Athens before heading to Georgia State University to complete a bachelor of science in physical therapy. After working for several years as a physical therapist, he earned his doctor of medicine at St. George's University. He moved to the Northeast to complete his residency, becoming administrative chief resident at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and receiving a fellowship from the University of Pittsburgh. Then he returned home to Georgia, where his practice at Sports and Spine helps patients get back on their feet and return to living their lives to the fullest.

MaggieMae M.McDonough, GA311Jan 27, 2023This review has been a long time coming. Dr. Patel is very touchy (inappropriately). His office staff is so rude. I am surprised they still have patients. After my last visit I decided that I could no longer be silent about this practice.
My husband and I wanted to speak with Patel about this but he wouldn't come out and speak with us.
Ladies beware. His office staff protects him. But I've spoken with an attorney and am going to file the appropriate charges against him.

Lynell D.GA, GA05Sep 21, 2023I will be looking for another BioTe provider. Dr Patel is mostly in Augusta now and his office is going down hill. It was very hard to get anyone to answer the phone to make an appt and that should have been a warning. I have called 2 times with questions and 2 times to make a follow up appt n have not received a call back. I even sent Dr Patel a text to see if they were going to continue doing hormone replacement because the sports meds was sold to another group. No answer from him this time either. The office wasn't in that great of shape also when I went for my appt. Also, I think he used a generic pellet because it's been 2 months n no change what so ever. I do not recommend this office at all!!!

The prior 1-star review is completely out of left field for the practice and Dr. Patel who has 100s of 5-star reviews on the actual review webpage for the practice. Very compassionate physician and reflects how ALL physicians should treat their patients in any field. Trustworthy and Extremely intelligent physician that I would trust my grandparents, parents, children and any family member with. Excellent team as well!!!

I do not feel like just another patient, he truly wants to help me find ways to cope with my injuries. He is an outstanding professional and has a very human side that he does not mind sharing with his patients. He is kind, gentle, and explains to his patients different options for treatment and allows the patient to have an opinion in what type of treatment they think would work best for them. I would highly recommend him to anyone who suffers from ongoing pain. He will help find the solution to minimize your pain and not just blow you off with pain medication.
